Water-based activities and overnight camping are the key draws to the Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park, named after a famous Civil War general. Set beside the massive Kentucky Lake, there is plenty of room for pleasure boating and fishing, and the location also provides excellent scenery. The park also contains the Tennessee River Folklife Interpretive Center, which speaks to the history of the many groups who have lived and worked along the Tennessee River. Camden is under eight miles west of the park, which sits on the western edge of the lake.
Open year round. Center open daily 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and noon - 4:30 p.m.
Free entry. Overnight rates vary.
